Project PLACE

The development of a responsive design strategy, neighborhood physical assets and creative programs can have a significant impact on community life. Project PLACE (Physical Landscapes, Adaptive Community Engagement) was created to implement programming that will contribute to supporting and sustaining healthy communities. Not only do projects under this initiative spark community pride, they also serve as a turning point for the reclamation of civic assets for marginalized communities. It is through this form of spatial activation that citizens become more involved, confident and resilient, and form an integral part of the social fabric of the Charlotte community-at-large.
